From September 28 to 30, 2023,
the VMU Agricultural Academy
hosted a specialized Livestock Exhibition.

 

In the exhibition organized by the Business and Social Partnership Center of the VMU Agricultural Academy and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, the main exhibits of the exhibition were cattle, horses, goats, rabbits and poultry of different breeds. More than 15 educational activities were implemented at the event. The visitors had the opportunity to move into the virtual space, learn about the production processes of products of animal origin (cheese, wool yarn, etc.), and participate in tastings.

In addition to the abundant display of animals, visitors engaged in and interested in animal husbandry could visit the exposition of animal husbandry equipment, learn about feed preparation equipment, loaders, feed dispensers and similar equipment, milking and manure handling equipment, etc. The companies participating in the exhibition presented to the visitors the methods of milk testing, pest control, drawing up feeding rations and vaccination schemes, etc. services, Lithuanian milk substitutes for calves, livestock and poultry feed additives, compost, manure and even water additives, manure management products, microbiological products and much more.

The five most innovative exhibits were awarded exhibition medals:

• Full-fledged milk substitute for calves "NutriCalf Premium 40" (Litamilk UAB).
• Mobile battery vacuum device for milking MOOTECH ECO SMART (Mototecha UAB).
• Microbiological product for manure management "NN Farmodor C" (UAB "Nando").
• Feed dispenser "SEKO Samurai 7 500/150" (Rovaltra UAB).
• Drying and disinfection mineral complex for litter hygiene of ruminants, pigs, poultry and horses ACTISAN 360 (UAB "Timac Agro LT").

At the conference "Strengthening the competitiveness of animal husbandry. The good experience of the RDP program" reports were read by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, professors of the VMU Agricultural Academy, LSMU Veterinary Academy, Lithuanian farmers and guests from abroad, and in the discussion dedicated to the main topic of the conference - increasing competitiveness, the heads of animal breeders' associations and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture shared their opinions.
